Just sayin'.

Welcome!

This is a news and information blog for the Lone Star College-University Center Library. Ours is a virtual library just on the edge of Conroe and The Woodlands, Texas where Interstate 45 meets College Park Drive (State Road 242).

The LSC-University Center is a kind of distance-learning in person facility which allows students to complete their undergraduate and graduate degrees here close to home in classes taught by instructors from our 6 partner Universities (Prairie View A&M, Texas A&M, Sam Houston State University, Texas Southern, University of Houston, and University of Houston Downtown).

Here in the LSC-University Center library, I provide bibliographic guidance as librarian to our students, to make certain they have the same access to research resources that they would if they were attending classes at their home university campuses.

The facility is owned and run by The Lone Star College system, and LSC-Montgomery College is right next door (including their library with its excellent collection of physical volumes AND virtual books).

Our website address is
http://www.lonestar.edu/universitycenter

And this blog will be updated periodically with news about our programs and interesting library resources for our visitors.

There may be a library closer to you than you think!

Besides the LSC-University Center and LSC-Montgomery College Libraries, there are many other college and public libraries in the North Houston area. These facilities are open to the public and are great places to study, get on the internet, borrow books & videos, and more. Each library has its own particular features and programs, ranging from computer classes to book clubs to children's storytimes. The Google Map below has links, hours, and contact phone numbers for those in the North Houston area (including the LSC-University Center Library).
