Pride and Passion: The African American Baseball Experience
Ends August 27

“Pride and Passion: The African American Baseball Experience” tells the story of black baseball players in the U.S. over the past century and a half. LSC-CyFair Library is one of only 25 libraries across the country to host this traveling exhibit from the American Library Association. The exhibit is on display from July 14-August 27.

August 10, 10:00-11:00 a.m. - Teen Baseball Book Club
Dropping the Ball: Baseball's Troubles and How We Can and Must Solve Them by Dave Winfield for ages 11-18. During the last half hour of the book club, teens can join the "Players Day at the Exhibition" event. (LRNC 131)

August 10, 10:30-11:30 a.m. - Players Day at the Exhibition
Visit with Houston Astros player, Jason Bourgeois and other players from all levels of competition who will talk about baseball and the exhibition in a meet and greet format. (Library)

August 10, 12:00-1:30 p.m. - Baseball History Mystery Revealed
See if your guess matches the right answer when the culprit from the Baseball History Mystery is revealed! Earn a chance to win door prizes! Step up to the plate and grab a light lunch. Learn more about the historical figures from African-American baseball mentioned in the story. Enjoy a baseball in popular culture quiz. On hand for the festivities will be baseball historians, Lawrence Hogan and Robert Cvornyek to share real-life tales of baseball memorabilia. (LRNC 131)
